Artist Statement

Award winning artist Mark Langley is well known and long established in Derbyshire. He returns to Derbyshire Open Arts, in a new venue, this year with a collection that really showcases his versatility and skill.

The focus will be on his pointillist oil paintings, a highly unusual technique which Mark has mastered and made his own. These paintings combine Mark's trademark precision and eye for detail with an exciting use of colour and a looser style resulting in atmospheric paintings, often depicting the local landscape.

In addition Mark will be showing the highly detailed pencil and colour pencil drawings that made his name and have been rewarded with multiple local and national awards. These will include his animal portraits and architectural studies.

There will be original art, prints and greetings cards available for sale at the show and Mark will be accepting commissions for oil paintings and pencil drawings.
