My work is influenced by my local environment, together with the appliance of a bit of science! Living next door to a working quarry, continuous land reclamation of disused parts of the quarry have greatly inspired my work, which is underpinned by the process of environmental reclamation. I'm a scientist by training having left the health service, and apply my knowledge of chemistry to my jewellery making. Current experimentation using enamel with metal nitrates has generated some interesting results! Chemistry also helps me problem solve; most recently how to solder and enamel Shibuishi (an alloy of 75% copper and 25% silver)- generally regarded as not possible.I am always happy to receive commissions and am always delighted to be given the privilege of making a bespoke piece; however all of my pieces are one offs, I don't use any outsourced manufacturing processes.
