Artist Statement

I am a Derbyshire based artist living in Bonsall on the edge of the beautiful Peak District. I work in a range of mixed media with paint, collage, and textiles; textiles is my newest focus and addition to my art. I like to sketch, particularly with concertina sketchbooks, this gives me freedom and inspiration for art pieces and compositions. My sketching is not always to scale, giving a semi abstract twist to some of my work. Artworks in paint and collage are completed on board, paper, and canvas. Working with textiles has been a therapeutic pleasure. I am presently a member of a stitching collective based in Scarborough producing group directed individual work which is exhibited at live and online exhibitions. New textile pieces are in progress for shows and trails for 2023. Using natural materials is preferred in my textile work and my passion for using old vintage and upcycled fabrics aims for a natural, textural feel and look.
There are always a range of cards, prints, journals, stitch books, earrings and other mixed media makes available for sale when I am exhibiting starting from as little as £2.00 - £60.00. This year I will be launching workshops in various techniques which will include mark making, journal making, binding and various techniques in stitch and textile. Enrolment for workshops will be available via my website.
