Artist Statement

I create hand stitch textile collages. Ideas for the textiles come from my sketchbooks and altered books, some of which will be on display. Broadly the sketchbook themes are travel, the seasons and the cosmos. From these I create pictures, wallhangings, fabric postcards and fabric books. I use traditional and contemporary embroidery techniques on mostly leftover fabrics and occasionally use tins or customise boxes to display them in.
