Artist Statement

After a very full family and professional life I retired in 2007 and found time to explore my own creativity. I started to paint and use clay and after moving to France my work in a variety of media was inspired by travelling in India, The Philippines, Australia and France. I am inspired by the vibrancy of colour, landscapes and people.
Having returned to the U.K. to live in Derbyshire in 2019 I have exhibited my work in Buxton’s Green Man Gallery, Buxton Spa Prize, Cavendish pop up exhibitions, Derbyshire Open Arts 2022, Glossop’s Station waiting room, Bradbury House and Glossop Labour Club.
My work is very varied and reflects my interest in exploring an idea in many ways and mediums. My current work is about people and the theme 'Ray of Hope'. I wait with interest to see where this leads me.
