Location: Glossop   /  Genre: Printmaking, Textile, Design

Artist Statement

In 2020, Lauren achieved an MA in Fashion Textile Practices. She has since been working on her practice as a printmaker and designer.

Lauren specialises in screen-printing, exploring mark-making and abstract styles through hands-on printmaking techniques. Producing textiles and artwork for the home, inspired by nature and natural environments, exploring design practices such as Biophilic design and colour psychology to create positive emotional responses and nurture an appreciation for nature. Lauren aims to build a sense of place through print and is often driven by process and her appraches to drawing & photography.

In November 2021, Lauren co-founded KIN.DER, a print studio, Pop-up shop & creative space, on Arundel St, in Glossop. Here, Lauren co-runs the studio, with fellow artist, Richard Knox, delivering screen-printing and Risograph printing workshops, in addition to working on her design practice in the print studio.

In June 2022, Lauren secured DYCP Arts Council funding to work on her Project - Print & Place: A Creative Response To Glossop's Textile Heritage. This opportunity has allowed Lauren to develop her creative practice in printmaking and she has continued to work on hand-printed processes and techniques in a slower and more mindful approach.
