Artist Statement

Much of the wood that I use is from native hardwoods such as yew, ash, beech, oak and birch; I use some tropical wood which has been given to me by retired woodturners. The native woods are often rescued from discarded prunings or come from my own trees and have been seasoned. I believe in sustainability and will re-purpose and recycle suitable wood. When I turn wood I try to optimise the attractiveness of its grain and potential features.
