Artist Statement

I am an abstract impressionist artist based at The Mill Yard Studio Gallery at Caudwell's Mill, Rowsley, Derbyshire.
My work is inspired by my life and surroundings. I use colour, variable perspective and scale to create abstract impressionist work that finds a juxtaposition between ‘place’ in real time and the feelings and emotions evoked by it. I work in watercolour collage and ink, mixed media with Acrylics and oil and cold wax with collage. My style of work is determined by the medium I use but I always strive to produce vibrant works of art that have clarity of colour and light, but leave a sense of interpretation to the onlooker.
