Artist Statement

My art tends to be predominantly textile based - using a lot of wool, mixed textiles and felting techniques, to add texture and interest to a piece. I particularly enjoy building up layers of colour and depth, with wool fibres and felting them together to give a loose, expressionist style of work.
Nature in all it’s forms, has always been an inspiration and I seem to be particularly drawn to naturally occurring spirals, a rolling sea and the sky - particularly when there is a good storm brewing or the sky is unbelievably vibrant at sunset. I have recently been developing my work into new areas, that are more sculptural and I am really excited to see where these go.....
