Elizabeth Swift

Location: Whaley Bridge   /  Genre: Felting fibre art

Artist Statement

Elizabeth describes her work as 'painting with fibres' using merino wool, silk and other natural fibres to create seascapes, landscapes and characterful birds and animals.
The natural world provides much of her inspiration.

At her home in New Mills in the High Peak, Derbyshire, Elizabeth runs workshops for small groups of people and can travel to venues for hen parties, birthdays or special occasions for groups of up to 12 people.

She is a member of the High Peak Artists group and exhibits all year round in Gallery in the Gardens in the heart of Buxton's Pavilion Gardens.

Commissions and pet portraits are undertaken which by nature of the materials used can include some of the animal's own hair or fur.
