Artist Statement

I have been a steadfast lino print artist for years. I have been inspired by my rural surroundings and local architecture, but this year feels different. I am painting. I am still printing, but painting has allowed me to try different styles of composition and different subject matter. My oil paintings are very personal and hold a lot of emotion for me. They are mostly scenes from my life, quiet snapshots of family, home and living in this part of the world. As this year progresses, I hope to take some of these themes into my print work to see how they develop.
At Derbyshire Open Arts I will be exhibiting a combination of lino prints and oil paintings.
