Artist Statement
“I’ve always preferred animals to humans (!). I feel uplifted and inspired when near to them, open, relaxed, soothed and accepted for who I am. With my strong Celtic ancestry I have always remembered how special and needed all wildlife is. All my life I’ve had a deep affinity with animals and I create my wildlife art to honour and respect them. When working on my art I become very still & quiet. Listening with my heart, I receive their wisdom and healing. Their eyes and energy share who they truly are, drawing you in. They reveal their unique, powerful energy and wisdom to those of us open to receiving it.
I’ve always been called to draw and paint wildlife and to share their wonderful energy through my work. Working with oil based coloured pencils (currently my Wild Britain Collection) and soft pastels (currently my Wild Soul Collection) I love to find detail and softness for feathers, fur and scales.
I am a passionate wildlife conservationist and donate at least 10% of all my art sales to organisations working hard to protect them in their natural habitat, including the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.
Based in rural South Derbyshire I’m surrounded by wildlife & nature, a constant source of renewal and inspiration.”
