Artist Statement

Dawn produces hand embossed copper framed pictures. The copper is enhanced with various techniques including heat treatment, patination using chemical reactions, enamel paints and gold leaf. The pieces are inspired by nature particularly the textures and patterns found in organic forms, the more texture and marks embossed onto the copper the more the light reflects from the surface of the metal creating more visually interesting pieces.
Dawn also creates hand made sterling silver jewellery using traditional hand tools and techniques such as chasing, piercing and stone setting to make delicate, detailed, wearable pieces.
