Artist Statement

Denise Cliffen - Fine Artist began her professional artistic career in 1999 as a muralist specialising in trompe l'oeil (trick of the eye). Over the past few years Denise has been able to set her creativity free producing art from the soul in a collection of works in acrylics, mixed media and soft pastels. In 2021 Denise exhibited at The Mall Galleries, London with the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Society of Marine Artists amongst others. Denise was also a heat semi-finalist in 2022 Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year.

Denise Cliffen - Fine Artist is primarily self-taught and has her own approach to art. She believes inspiration can be found wherever you look and is inspired by exploring the infinite realms of colour within the context of sense, place, time and texture. To find out more about her philosophy, feel free to get in touch.
Denise lives in Whatstandwell, Derbyshire (formally from Maldon, Essex). Denise holds workshops in acrylics, soft pastels, linocut printing and more at her home studio, Easel Weasel Art Workshops.
