Artist Statement

My fascination with nature and how we interact with the world around us began whilst growing up in a small mining community in Botswana. Here the extremes of weather not only brought out the weird and wonderful creatures but the harshness of the environment gave me a respect for our place within it and the fragility of the environment.

The stained glass pieces I make are inspired by nature and science mixing the traditional leaded, painted and kiln-fused glass in pieces, complementing the organic forms with geometric patterns. I am interested in the abstract and interpretation of our place in space and time.
