Jenny Rothwell

Location: New Mills   /  Genre: Jewellery

Artist Statement

.Jenny lives with her family in New Mills, creating jewellery in her small garden workshop.

Having a lifelong interest in the English countryside and coastline Jenny's work is heavily influenced by her daily observations of the changing seasons and the natural world. Her work in handpainted and printed anodised aluminium often depicts tiny scenes from nature...what we would see if we took a closer look at the meadows and hedgerows of Derbyshire. Recent pieces include sweeping Derbyshire landscape paintings in miniature. Jenny's silverwork often incorporates seaglass and beach stones found on coastal walks in Cornwall and has a natural and organic feel.

Jenny is a member of The Gallery in New Mills which is an artist run gallery and shop showcasing and supporting local artists and craftworkers and regularly exhibits for Derbyshire Open Arts at 67 Mellor Road with fellow gallery members and friends.
