Artist Statement

Since graduating with a diploma in ceramics and other media, I have spent all of my working life within the Arts and Education sector.
I was a founding member of Welfare State International, a street theatre performer, a community artist, a teacher, founder of Fleet Arts in Belper, the Director of an arts centre in Hull and an Adult Education Senior Officer in Derbyshire.
I am now a born-again potter making useful objects and sculptural clay pieces by hand and on the potter's wheel. I experiment with materials so my work, like my career, is varied. I am interested in pottery that has character in form and function, that can be enjoyed and used in our daily lives.
