Artist Statement

With a love of corvids and entomology, travel to places steeped in Nordic traditions and just a touch of things a little on the dark side I have created a collection of bottles and vessels with a twist.

I take old poison, apothecary and scientific vessels, cast them in porcelain and parian clay, or
create more organic shapes, sculpted in stoneware clay.

Using a limited colour palette some pieces are decorated with oxides & underglazes providing
a canvas for my pen & ink illustrations, text & maps. Some pieces become more sculptural with birds, animals and flora of wild landscapes touching on the folk law that goes with them.
