Artist Statement

We often anthropomorphise the creatures we share our world with. Folklore, fairy tales, legend - there are many lessons to be learned from an animal's sense of innate dignity and pride that we humans start our lives with but often lose at an early age.
I use a variety of building techniques to create my ceramic creatures. I include vintage buttons, feathers, horsehair and anything else that the character requires.
I teach art and ceramics in a Secondary School and work on my own practice from a small studio at home in Sheffield.
