Artist Statement

Rachel Eastop is a Botanical Artist living and working in the picturesque village of Hayfield,
Derbyshire.

Following a degree in Landscape Architecture she explored her passion for art in a range of media.

Rachel works in a range of media including watercolour and graphite.
In 2021 Rachel discovered a love for botanical art which led her to undertake the certificate in
Botanical Illustration with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh for which she received a distinction.

In 2023 she started a two-and-a-half year diploma course in Botanical Art with the Society of
Botanical Artists.

Rachel is a member of Hayfield Artists, the Sheffield Florilegium, the Society of Botanical Artists
(SBA) and the Association of Botanical Artists (ABA). Her cross section of a red cabbage in
watercolour is currently exhibited as part of the ABA online exhibition “beauty in the detail”.
