Artist Statement

Louise has been captivated by print since the mother of her childhood friend introduced the medium to her in the early 1980’s. Children’s book illustrations were a delight and formed a precious Art Gallery available at the flick of a page.
On returning to the joy of relief printing she found the same magical experience was not diminished by adulthood. Now looking to capture the change in the Seasons as seen around Red Cottage in both nature and her own garden, Louise delights in experimenting with multi-block prints and using colour to communicate her experience of life in and around Red Cottage and The Peak District.
Louise is a Member of the prestigious Peak District Artisans, a group of professional Artists working together to create collective excellence.
