Artist Statement

Lynn Presland is an artist living and working in Derbyshire, her home for the past 45 years. In acrylics, oils and mixed media she translates the hills and valleys of her home into transportive portals to contemplation, forming deeply personal visions from wild landscapes and unquiet skies.
Painting and exhibiting for over twenty years, her work is in constant evolution but always seeks to create an emotional impact. With subjects which are sometimes real, sometimes a portmanteau of imagination and memory, her paintings offer the viewer a hallucinatory absorption that shows a path away from the everyday.

Many of Lynn’s paintings are in collections overseas and her work has been exhibited in various galleries in Derbyshire, Sheffield, Buxton, and the Harley Gallery Welbeck.
