Artist Statement

My images use minor landscape elements rather than traditional views. They are more personal than an acquisitive record of a location. Amongst the cultural baggage I bring to to my picture making are an interest in 1960's Op Art, Romanticism and twentieth century typographic design. The landscape becomes an aesthetic medium for my visual ideas. Recent sepia work reflects my confusion about the irrelevance of my creative output during climate change.
